The highlight of today was the PRCA Luncheon. The contestants modeled their cowgirl adornments and leather chaps. Each MRA contestant appeared on stage, modeling their unique-to-each state queen chap outfits. The contestants were asked to speak on the same topic:
“An important role of Miss Rodeo America is to promote rodeo. You have 45 seconds to describe rodeo in your state.”
The luncheon was presented by Ram & the PRCA and was sponsored by Miss Rodeo Colorado and the Greeley Stampede and Miss Rodeo Utah and Ogden Frontier Days Rodeo. Miss Rodeo North Dakota won the Contestant Chap Scholarship Award. With this award she won a scholarship sponsored by the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association and a custom western handbag sponsored by Julie Baugher Leather Design. The chaps were judged by; Kent Sturman the Director if the PRCA ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Judy Wagner the Vice President of Marketing for Montana Silversmiths.
PRCA Barrelman JJ Harrison joined with Katherine and entertained the crowd during the event. From mock interviews to dance moves the pair had thre entire crowd laughing.
The contestants attended the first round of the WNFR this evening at the Thomas and Mack. Tomorrow will be the Fashion Show! So be sure to watch the LIVE edition on the Wrangler Network.
